A photo from the place I live, Vikevåg in Rogaland Norway.

New camera and as you can see, there is still a lot to learn.

The camera is a Panasonic Lumix LX15 that I plan to use it mostly in the city centre and indoors.

My daily commute

7 weeks left in this job, for now …
And that is a very strange feeling after so many years.

“Just for fun”

I work in Sola outside Stavanger in Norway, and I live on an island named Rennesøy.

The trip one way are approximately 37 km and there are two long underwater tunnels on the way home 🙂

Ben Payne joins McLaren as inaugural director of esports

McLaren has underlined its commitment to the esports platform with the appointment of Ben Payne as the company’s new director of esports.

McLaren has underlined its commitment to the esports platform with the appointment of Ben Payne as the company’s new director of esports.

Ben joins the company from Microsoft, where he held roles in third party marketing, partnerships and events for Xbox EMEA, as well as working on global campaigns for Windows. Prior to Microsoft, Ben held positions at SEGA, 2K Games and Future.

Ben joins McLaren on Monday 13 November, arriving just as the company’s prestigious esports racing contest, World’s Fastest Gamer, enters its final week of competition. After months of qualifying rounds, 12 finalists will converge on McLaren’s Woking headquarters to battle for the opportunity to become one of the team’s 2018 simulator drivers.

McLaren was the first Formula 1 team to announce its own esports property, in April this year. Ben’s appointment means that McLaren also becomes the first team in the sport to create a dedicated position for an eSports director.

In this new role, Ben will oversee the growth and development of McLaren’s esports strategy, including all aspects of the World’s Fastest Gamer programme. Additionally, he will lead the development of the WFG partner community, activating gaming partnerships across retail, media partnerships and key industry events.

Ben Payne said:

“I’m delighted to be joining McLaren as director of esports during the climax of this year’s prestigious World’s Fastest Gamer contest. It’s undoubtedly an exciting time to be joining the organisation, and I’m looking forward to helping the McLaren brand grow and develop through its esports and gaming proposition.”

Zak Brown, Executive Director, McLaren Technology Group said:

“Gaming and esports are two huge and exciting markets, and we believe that they’re essential elements of McLaren’s new marketing platform. The growth and appeal of gaming, and its close relationship to motorsport and Formula 1, makes this a natural area of expansion for us.”

John Allert, Chief Marketing Officer, McLaren Technology Group, commented:

“We want to position McLaren as a market leader in this category. With World’s Fastest Gamer, we were the first Formula 1 team to create an esports property and now Ben’s appointment will accelerate the ambitious plans we have to grow this area of the business. We have already forged successful esports partnerships with Logitech G and Sparco, and we’re looking to develop a partner community around our gaming properties.”

BMW Active Hybrid e-bike

It might just look like a regular old commuter bike with an unusually robust body, but BMW Lifestyle writing the next chapter in the success story of the BMW Bikes Collection and demonstrates once again how innovative technology and sophisticated design can come together into an aesthetically pleasing overall concept.

It might just look like a regular old commuter bike with an unusually robust body, but BMW Lifestyle writing the next chapter in the success story of the BMW Bikes Collection and demonstrates once again how innovative technology and sophisticated design can come together into an aesthetically pleasing overall concept.

The BMW Active Hybrid e-bike is equipped with a comprehensively revised drive concept, which makes its presence felt in the form of a significant power boost. The advanced Brose electric motor can be activated as required to supplement the rider’s pedal power. Producing output of 250 W and 90 Nm (66 lb-ft) of torque, the motor injects extra dynamism and serves up the agility for which BMW is renowned. Providing the energy for the electric pedal assistance – over a range of up to 100 km (62 miles) – is a removable 504 Wh battery. The rider can adjust the degree of pedal assistance with ease via the new display; four different power modes (from ECO (+50%) to TURBO (+275%)) can be selected up to a maximum 25 km/h (16 mph). Plus, the micro USB socket and Bluetooth function allow customers to hook their smartphone up to the bike.

The LED light integrated into the aluminium mudguard over the rear wheel maximises safety and adds a further design flourish.

Saddling up securely with the eZone.

E-bikes not only deliver an inimitable riding experience, they also place very specific demands on their saddles. Which is why saddle maker Selle Royale commissioned BMW Group subsidiary Designworks to develop the first-ever saddle tailored specifically to the requirements of e-bikers. The innovative form of the “eZone” (on sale since September) is based on a zonal concept fine-tuned to the particular attributes of e-bikes and the need profiles of their riders. A short nose, a rising seat surface at the rear and moving side wings create a stable seating position and improve balance when pushing off and braking. And they also ensure safety in typical e-bike acceleration situations. The eZone likewise convinces with an increase in comfort courtesy of three-zone padding featuring 3D Skingel and Royal Gel. Meanwhile, the fibreglass handle integrated into the underside of the saddle makes the bike easier to move around; e-bikes are often heavier than classic bicycles on account of their drive module.

The BMW Active Hybrid e-bike is now available from selected BMW dealers. All other models in the BMW bicycle range and related equipment can be purchased online at http://shop.bmw.com/.

Manufacturer’s recommended retail price:

BMW Active Hybrid e-bike: EUR 3,400.00

The summer of 2015 I and my daughter decided to drive from Stavanger in Norway, and all the way up to Nordkapp.

To make the trip “complete”, after visiting Nordkapp we also drove all the way down to Lindesnes in the south.

Sorry for the bad quality from our Sony cam on this one, same problems that we have had on several of the videos.

This will be much better (I hope) in 2017 videos as long as we have invested in a Garmin VIRB Ultra 30 😉

After one week on the road we have now reached Tromsø

#RoadTrip2017

So far we have driven 2769 km in total.

We are one week into our road trip 2017, and have approximately 8-9 days to go.

This winter there will be more photos with more information from this trip, today I just wanted to share some of the photos with you. The weather has been typical Norwegian weather, rain and 10 degrees celsius …

We have been lucky enough to have some sun now and then 🙂

Family Road Trip 2017
#Holidays

There has not been and will not be posted anything here the coming three weeks.

We are traveling in our family car, the Volvo V40 2014 R Design 🙂 This time the whole family are together for the Road Trip 2017, my daughter, my son and me.

If possible I might post some very simple posts from my cellphone, mostly photos then.

The Road Trip is planned to cover the whole of Norway, and a bit of Finland and Sweden, here below are the hashtags that will be used for the trip, so you can image that it will be some kilometers on the Volvo 🙂
