The highest track temperatures in recent memory were recorded at Sepang in Malaysia at the start of FP2, hitting the 61 degree centigrade mark.
Conditions in FP1 were cool and so not very representative. In FP2 track temperatures were considerably higher (peaking at 41 degrees centigrade). This is typical of Austin, where temperature swings at this time of year are commonplace.
Valtteri Bottas set a best time of 1m19.705s on ultrasoft tyres, pole time in 2015 at Barcelona was 1m24.681s.
